Leonhard Unsinn founded a forge in the postwar years. He made horseshoes, repaired agricultural machinery, had a petrol station and started constructing agricultural trailers.

The field of activity was expanded with the addition of motor vehicles (Peugeot) and the production of slurry tankers and trailers.

In the year 1991 the whole company fell victim to a major fire. Josef Unsinn, the son of the founder, took over the company in 1992 and focused on vehicle construction. He expanded the product range and made UNSINN a competent address for special industrial solutions.

In 1994 and 1996 the company was awarded the Bavarian State Award: for the Telescope container trailer and the Unloading lift EL 100.

Production, quality and service are continuously developed.

The company has constantly developed its product range and premises, a new office and cargo trailer production facilities as well as an exhibition hall were built. A new production hall was built in 2005.

Opening of the "ANHÄNGERPARK" in Pessenburgheim in 2008. The park offers service, sales, flair and shows a big range of UNSINN-Trailers. 

Award for "Bavarian's Best 50" in 2011: UNSINN is one of the 50 best companies in Bavaria and got through the economic crisis with slight growth. In 2014 we got the second award for "Bavarian's Best 50": The prize is awarded annually to the 50 most dynamic companies which proved to be particularly fast-growing and increased their sales and number of employees above average.

In 2016, UNSINN completed a new production and storage hall and began further major reconstruction work.

2017, the company is producing 12,000 quality trailers for Germany and abroad and is known internationally as a specialist for custom-made products of the highest quality.

UNSINN celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2018. Lern more at www.unsinn.de/60-jahre. In addition to that, in 2018 the ground-breaking ceremony to start the doubling of the premises to 160,000m² also took place.

Development of new market segments with the innovative braking trailer and expansion of the product portfolio with the roll-off tipper and truck trailers.
 

Takeover of the majority of shares of HRB Heinemann AG, based in Nassenwil (CH), as of January 1, 2020. With this acquisition, UNSINN Fahrzeugtechnik strengthens its market position in Switzerland.

The new welding shop with storage area for unfinished frames has been active since June.

After 2011 and 2014, UNSINN Fahrzeugtechnik receives the award "Bavarian's Best 50" for the third time.

Leonhard Unsinn, founder of UNSINN Fahrzeugtechnik, passed away on September 21 at the age of 86. In 1958, he set up his own business as a trained master smith and set the foundation for today's company. Leonhard Unsinn and his life's work will always be a defining part of the company's history.

In 2022, new photovoltaic systems were installed on the roofs of the UNSINN factory. Together with the PV-systems installed in 2013, they produce around three times as much electricity as consumed. The surplus can therefore be injected into the electic grid.
